The Status Bar is an area on a Document window that contains controls that appear in other areas but are so commonly used that they are placed right on the document itself.

When the document is dirtied (needs saved) then the status bar background turns red.

Desktop Configuration

The following shows the Status Bar for a desktop application (a Mac).

The controls shown above are itemized from left to right as follows.

Normal : This button is normally set to Normal but if it is selected then it is set to Palette. While in palette mode, the document acts as a Palette and graphics from it can be dragged to other documents and applications. This button is also available on the Graphic View Tools editor.

Page : The page controls, which are page backwards, page forwards, page number and maximum number of page label determine which page is loaded into the Graphic View. These controls are also available on the Graphic View Tools editor.

Cursors : The cursors button determine the type of cursor to use.

Grid : The grid button sets the background grid on and off. This setting is also available on the Graphic View editor.

Snap : The snap button sets snap to grid on and off. This setting is also available on the Graphic View editor.

Magnification : The magnification menu sets the magnification of the Graphic View. This setting is also available on the Magnifier editor.

Login : Shows the Login editor.

Help : The help button brings forward this manual.

Tablet Configuration

The following shows the Status Bar for a tablet configuration which includes the iPad, iPhone and Windows platform.

The controls are similar for the desktop configuration with the following important distinctions which are itemized from left to right.

Show Navigator : The show navigator slider determines how much of the Navigator is shown.

Export : The export menu gives access to export features.

Show Tools : The tools menu gives access to tools such as the Preferences editor, Legend and Trends tool and other tools. Many of these tools are also available on the Graphic View tools editor.

Login : Shows the Login editor.

Show Inspector : The show inspector slider determines how much of the Inspector Editor is shown.

When on an iPhone, the Status Bar is dynamic and rotating the iPhone to Portrait orientation will make the controls in the middle disappear so that the limited width is accommodated.
